Pilates Instructor
Jamie Towle began taking Pilates as part of her ballet training as a company member at Southern New Hampshire Youth Ballet in Bedford, New Hampshire.  Pilates became her passion as she loved the strength, flexibility, and endurance gained from her practice.  Jamie received her Pilates mat certification through the Physicalmind Institute and completed her RYT-200 hours with Yogafit.  Since 2005, Jamie has taught various Pilates, spin, yoga, and Zumba classes in Worcester, MA and New Haven, CT.  She loves to combine her dance, yoga, and Pilates background into a dynamic class that focuses on all aspects of body conditioning.

Laura Merkel

Pilates Instructor

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Laura has been dancing for as long as she remembers. As her love of movement grew, she recognized the importance of understanding the body in myriad ways. She elected to take anatomy, biology, and kinesiology courses throughout high school and college to better understand the human body and how she could use it most effectively and efficiently. Shortly after graduating from Hofstra University with a BA in dance performance, Laura moved to NYC. To supplement her dance training and earn a living, she began training in yoga (RYT 500), Pilates, and ANYA Bodywork. She quickly found her dance knowledge influencing her classes and her wellness background keeping her body in shape for dancing.

Prompted by a need for a change of pace, Laura moved to Austin in 2016. In the time since then, she’s added barre fitness and rhythmic spin to her movement repertoire. She particularly enjoys working with prenatal and postpartum clients as well as folks who are new to fitness. In her group classes and with private clients, Laura takes a holistic, science-based approach, calling on these many fitness modalities, to help each person achieve their respective wellness goals.
